How to run ASA8.2.5 on GNS3 latest version?
Hello,
I was trying to use ASA 8.2.5 in GNS3 and ran into couple of issues. Finally got it working. I know no one uses 8.2.5 anymore but if you still got to learn it then you can get it via GNS3.
I haven't tested it on Win10, works fine with my win7.
1. Install latest version of GNS3
2. Click Edit>Preferences
3. Go to Qemu VMs
4. Click on New
5.
6. Ignore the warning
7.
8. Ignore the warning
9. Select Version 2.4.0
10. Select Telnet
11. Select baseconfig.txt from drop down
12. Browse for these files. You can google and download these 2 files.
asa802-k8.initrd.gz
&
asa802-k8.kernel
13. Click Ok and done.
14. You will see it in GNS3
15. You can run only one instance of this.
I hope this helps.
